Essentially, they manage the land and secure the leases so that oil and gas can be drilled. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, housing for workers (man camps), assemble the earthmoving equipment, and drill the well itself, especially in remote locations. They are also part repairman, part problem solver, and part facilitator.
Her character seems to disrupt the central narrative and create unnecessary chaos rather than support her journey
For a man so focused on his goals, the inclusion of an emotionally unstable one-woman circus completely undermines the show’s purpose. The portrayal doesn’t strengthen the story, but rather makes it difficult to take her determination and focus seriously. The wife seems emotionally unstable, while the daughter lacks intellectual depth, making her contribution to the plot negligible.
It’s a strange and unnecessary addition that detracts from the overall quality of the narrative
The portrayal of the daughter in particular feels shallow, with her character offering little beyond a superficial engagement that adds no value to the story. Furthermore, these characters constantly jumping around in provocative outfits, seemingly for no other purpose than to attract viewers, feels out of keeping with the tone of the show. Rather than enhancing the plot or character dynamics, this approach comes across as a superficial attention-grabbing tactic.
