A grieving therapist starts telling his clients exactly what he thinks
Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making big changes in people’s lives, including his own. The cast of “Shrinking” share the best moments that defined their characters in Season 1 and reveal who has the best Harrison Ford impression. When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford on the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and that he was going to audition people similar to Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they had to at least get him to Ford first, thinking he would immediately turn him down, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford was brought onto the project, generating interest from other notable actors.
And the rest of the show is great, too
In the end, Goldstein talked to Ford and sold him the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was elated nonetheless. Featured on WatchMojo: The 10 Best TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023). Jason Segel is the perfect choice for this script.
And Jessica is perfect
He has the weird, idiotically confident energy needed for this role. Her humor is perfect for the dialogue. This is the new form of sitcom dramas. No one-liners, just engaging personalities with a dash of quirk and family circumstances that are a little out of the ordinary but still relatable.
You’d lose your license immediately
Of course, Jimmy’s behavior as a therapist is completely absurd. Just impossible. But we allow metaphorical situations in the drama. And in this script, we feel a strong sense of purpose in the decisions.
For me, it’s easy and fun
We have to give the writers the benefit and try to capture the essence. Apparently, other critics had a hard time.
