The Jackal drives a white Alfa Romeo Spider
Chronology
The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living by committing murders for high wages. He soon meets a tenacious British intelligence officer who tracks him down in an exciting cat-and-mouse chase across Europe.
Quoted in Graham Norton i guesses: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024)
In The Jackal (1973), the Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, but a model from an earlier generation. In my opinion, the series is worth watching, especially because Eddie Redmayne’s portrayal of the assassin is simply outstanding.
He also seems very convincing as someone who really knows his way around weapons, and even in the action scenes he shows strength and dynamism and quick decision-making skills
He embodies his role with incredible versatility; in one scene he is very natural and loving like a family man, in another scene he is totally calculating and ice cold, which is also completely believable from his very nuanced facial expressions. The female lead of secret agent Bianca, on the other hand, is unfortunately, in my opinion, a very shallow role of a woman who can only ever strike and is not subtle at all.
She also has unnecessary family scenes that totally distract from the actual plot
She is very ruthless, both towards her own family and towards her sources, and she gets significantly more screen time than the Jackal, which unfortunately often takes away from the tension. I find her storyline far too broad and her role far too unsympathetic to like the series 100%.

But because Eddie’s acting is so outstanding and the series has an incredibly high aesthetic quality, with great city and landscape shots and first-class music à la James Bond, I think it’s worth watching. A new season of “Silo” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
